It means a lot to me and my family.  We know that Molly is running free and happy right now with some very special people that we miss dearly and that is a comfort to us.

Be on the lookout for a shop update tomorrow, I have 2 rovings drying, 2 sets of dyed locks and some batts that are being carded.  I also will have a few surprises and sales coming up after Halloween.  I have family starting to come in on Saturday and then starting on Monday until November 1st I will be busy with them and going to Disney.

Thanks again!

Rest in peace sweet Molly….

My sweet Molly is being put down as I type this message.  I know it is for the best, but I just cannot imagine life without her sweet, fuzzy face.  She came into our lives as a stray that we instantly loved.  She was my brother’s companion and my mom’s best friend.  My mom is beside herseslf with having to do this to her darling Molly, but we all know that it needs to be done.  Her boys (my brother and my husband) will miss their shadow and confidant and I will miss her snuggles.  Rest easy little one, you will be missed greatly.

Rainbow Bridge—Author Unknown

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

Bad blogger….

I haven’t been around here much, things are just kind of crazy.  Lots of orders going out, new rovings being dyed, yarns being spun and getting ready for the onslaught of family visiting.  2 aunts, a cousin and her son…..but they are great fun and it should be a blast.  We are taking Taua (who is 6) to Disney for the first time, he is so stoked and can hardly contain himself.  Also going to hang out around here and go to MOSI and the beach I am sure.  One of our stops at Disney will be to the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, that should be a fun experience.

One new roving in my shop to share:

Secret Garden—4oz of Falklands

I am going to be blending up some more batts to put up this week (including some sock blends with 5-6 oz of fiber) and dying up a bunch more rovings & locks so I can put them up before my vacation with family.  I know everyone is trying to get ready for holiday knitting/spinning, so I hope to get a bunch up.

Stay tuned for a contest here on my blog after I return, with a great prize, should be fun.

Well the Bucs just won, so I am a happy camper, off to get some more stuff dyed.

Here is “My So Called Scarf” that I did for my Grandma for Christmas.  I had started it a long time ago and frogged it, but restarted it and finished it in a couple of weeks.  Super easy pattern and fun to knit.  I used 1 1/2 hanks of Manos del Uruguay in an old discontinued colorway that I had in my stash.  My grandma is petite, so using it all would’ve been too much.  I am very happy with how it turned out, I just need to weave in the ends and block it (the ends flare a bit).

I also have my first finished yarn done on my new Rose…..

Autumnal–190 yards of sport to worsted weight, 2oz.  This roving is Corriedale from TravelingRhino’s kit last month (I ended up with 3 skeins from that kit, not bad!)

It isn’t as even as I would like, but for my first skein on my new wheel, I am pleased.  I am working on some BFL from Spunky Eclectic in her Burning Embers colorway and it is coming out nicely.

I packed off the Lendrum today and it is on its way to her new home in Arizona, I am sure she will be much loved and used.

Off to finish off my OTT (one tiny thing) swap on Craftster, need to get it in the mail.  🙂

Tell me why I am a bit sad?  I love my new Rose (who still needs a name and her new wheel), but I will still miss my first wheel.  Thank you for all the interest.

I got a big order of wool in today, tons of white and black merino, awesome light brown romney roving, some camel down and a bit more cashmere.  Well it was supposed to be only 0.1 pound, but they sent a pound, ugh.  So I am waiting to see if I am billed for the whole amount or not and what can be done.  It is gorgeous, but I already have 8 oz of white and I am not that proficient at spinning cashmere yet.  I do okay with it blended, but by itself, forget it.  So I might have some cashmere up for sale in the shop shortly and definitely cashmere blended batts, be on the lookout!

Off to spin and dye up some more, the shop update should be done by Monday.  I will post here when it is.  🙂

I forgot to ask, do any of you do lampwork bead making? It was something that I have always been interested in and I know I do not need another hobby, but would love any info if you have it.  🙂

Well my Majacraft Rose was delivered yesterday in the morning.  I was so excited and promptly opened up the box, only to find that the wheel itself was damaged.  :(:(:(

And it is in the drive band groove, so that ratio cannot be used.  No damage to the box could really be found.  I contacted the Woolery and they said that they have to contact Majacraft and have them send me a new wheel from New Zealand directly, so it will take a while.  😦  Also my plying kit is backordered, hopefully that won’t be for too long.

I was able to assemble it and use it though and it is the most wonderful wheel I have ever used.  OMG it is simply amazing.  So smooth and easy to treadle.  I can spin all day on it.  The whole scotch tension is going to take some getting used to and I need to find the perfect adjustments, but boy is it nice!  I will post more photos later.

I do have 2 new yarns to share, Autumn and Halloween themed.  They were made using Travelingrhino’s FOTM kit from last month, which was AWESOME!

Spooky–98 yards-98 yards of BFL, domestic and romney wools with angelina; plied with copper thread and has ribbons and skulls added in.  For sale on Etsy!

Autumn Splendor–64 yards- BFL, domestic and romney wools with angelina; plied with copper thread and has ribbons and flowers added in.  Also on Etsy for sale!

Both skeins match and would work wonderfully together.  I love how they came out!  🙂
