Look at my niece!

Only 9 days until she is here! She wouldn’t let mommy feed her last night, she wanted to do it herself. I think she did a great job! I just love this kid!

Here is my latest handspun. It is sportweight (approx 20 wpi) and 90 yards. I just have to set the twist and then I will probably ply it.

Isn’t this the coolest thing for spinners? At http://www.thebellwether.com you can get a yearly subscription where they send you samples of the fibers they carry and a cute little zine with special offers and members only fibers 6-10 times a year. When you first join you can have them send you all the fibers they have in stock too! It was only $16 for a years subscription + all the fibers. There is plenty to save a bit and spin with the rest to see what you like!

Too many baby shows…….

I swear all that is on all day is Baby Story, Bringing Home Baby, Baby Baby, etc. I can’t stop watching them either. Why women do this to themselves, I have no clue. Pregnant women are everywhere, everywhere but here. I feel kind of stupid because I never even wanted to be pregnant, I was going to adopt.

But here I am wanting, yearning, hoping for that lovely BFP (big fat positive) each month, only to be crushed when AF shows yet again. My husband is very supportive, but yet he doesn’t quite get it. I overanalyze everything and can drive myself crazy. Some days I think I need to get my meds looked at again. The Paxil is making me fat anyway. But I know I can’t go through weaning off and trying new ones, it is working, I just have to cope.

I have read Taking Charge of Your Fertility back and front, have been trying supplements and using the Clearblue Fertility Monitor along with ovulation sticks. I know I am ovulating, although that doens’t mean that it is making it to the uterus or able to implant. We are timing our BDing (baby dancing, sex, the hibbity jibbity) right and using PreSeed, freaking fertility friendly lube, did you know regular lube kills sperm??? I didn’t.

I am trying to keep my spirits up, we haven’t been trying that long (only 4 months), but my biological clock is ticking loud and quickly. I will be 31 in May and hubby just turned 35. I know, we are still young and all of that, but it needs to happen soon or I know it won’t happen at all.

At least I have my niece to brighten my life, she will be here in 11 days for her 1st birthday. She is our doll girl and I love her to pieces. And she reminds me that even if I can’t get pregnant that adoption fills those needs and beautifully so. I just shopped for her birthday yesterday and she is going to be one happy little girl. 🙂

I am trying to just be positive, it isn’t always easy, but life isn’t, right?

HERE IT IS!!!!!!! My wheel!!!! Isn’t she beautiful!! I think I want to marry her.

Isn’t this gorgeous!!! I picked this up at Uncommon Threads in Palm Harbor, they are a bit of a drive, but so worth it!! Knitting, SPINNING, weaving and a ton of other stuff. I have no idea what I am going to do with this, but it will be gorgeous whatever it is!!

I picked up 2oz of this merino silk blend roving at Uncommon Threads as well, it is beautiful!

I also got this awesome SoySilk roving at UC from Conjoined Creations, the colorway is Flower Power. 4oz of soft, silky goodness! I will wait until my control is a bit better to use this, but I couldn’t pass it up!

And last, but not least, 7oz of the most squishy heaven ever!! It is 100% baby alpaca from Alpaca with a Twist, it is called Handspinner’s Dream and I know why. I am lusting over what I will make with this. But for now, I am content with just stroking and squishing it!

Well anyone want to see my disgusting amounts of WIPs and soon to be WIPs?? Or UFOs whichever you prefer. 😉

Item #1—Irish Hiking Scarf for my mom. Such

an easy pattern, I just don’t have the time lately.

Socks that Rock, by Blue Moon Fiber Arts http://www.bluemoonfiberarts.com/
This is my first sock, going very well, I don’t mind the pooling. The blue & brown is Lucy and for my mom. The pink is Rhodonite and for me.
Oh yeah, didn’t mention but I joined their STR Club, I will get a new pattern & skein every other month for a year. First one ships on Monday, Woot!

These are the super simple bootie slip-ons from PiggyHawk’s blog. You just stitch them up and they are so cute. I did find an error in the pattern though, you CO and the end of row 35, not 25. I am including the link, check it out! These are for my hopefully someday baby. Not preggo again this month though. 😦

Ahhh beautiful Koigu, don’t mind my messy wound balls. This Koigu is going to become my Clapotis. Yes, I know I am way late on jumping on that bandwagon, but it is perfect for the weather here in FL, especially in the fall & winter. I am hoping to have some left for maybe a small other project. It is glorious!

And finally, this is some bulky Brown Sheep Co yarn that will be made into the felted clutch in the One Skein book. I think it will be a Christmas gift, we shall see though.

Now this isn’t everything, I have a Lady Eleanor casted on and the Marsupial tote from SnB too, but there isn’t much progress on those. The spinning wheel is going to take most of my time I imagine for a while. Not to mention the time I spend on WoW too. :p

Fiber Friday 02/23/07

Well here we are again, starting my blog over. Hopefully I will keep up with it this time.

Yesterday was a fabulous day! I got my spinning wheel!! A Lendrum ST folding wheel. I am in love. Unfortunately the plying head is broken and I still waiting to hear if and when they will send me a new one. Ugh.

So I sat down and spun like a fool yesterday. Took a while, but I am finally getting the hang of it. My yarn isn’t so even yet, but it is soft and squishy and all mine.

Here is what I made!

My first single, it is a wool blend in Marigold from SE

Oscar the Grouch—-30 yards of corriedale (the green, Hosta from Spunky Eclectic) and merino (the white is mill ends from the Sheep Shed) plied. Named by betzi’s son from Craftster.

St. Patty’s Day—30 yards of corriedale (Pine from SE) and merino (ends again) plied.

That’s it for now, I am spinning some gorgeous Delphinium blue right now and working on getting it EVEN!
